Jeanne Marie Tripplehorn has been an American actress for film television and stage since the late 1970s. She's been a professional actor for over 27 years. She began her career in 1990 in an off Broadway show called The Big Funk, by John Patrick Shanley. Then, in The Perfect Tribute, she had her debut TV role one year later. In 1992 she got her first big break when she was cast in the film Basic Instinct as a minor character. The Firm marked her first part as a female lead actress. She was paired with Tom Cruise and Gene Hackman. In the 90s Gwyneth collaborated alongside Hugh Grant on Mickey Blue Eyes as well as Julie Andrews for Relative Values. She recently played Dr. Alex Blake in the internationally popular police procedural crime drama Criminal Minds.
