Keira Knightley

Knightley, born in London to the family that included actors Will Knightley & Sharman Macdonald when she was just six years old was first employed in TV commercials and movies. Knightley starred as Sabe, a small role as a minor character in Star Wars: Episode I: The Phantom Menace (1998). After making international headlines for her role in the fantasy television series Pirates of the Caribbean in 2003 when she played Elizabeth Swann (a swashbuckling footballer) it was possible for her to appear in the sports drama Bend It Like Beckham in where she played a tomboy. Knightley was regarded as one of the promising young stars following her having a role for the role of Love Actually (2003). Knightley got the Academy Award nomination for Best Actress for her character of Elizabeth Bennet in Pride & Prejudice (2005). Knightley also appeared in a number of period films like Atonement (2007 which was a relationship story), The Duchess, (2008) and Anna Karenina, (2012). In Anna Karenina, she also was a socialite titled Georgiana in The Duchess. In contemporary dramas she played the aspiring musician In Begin Again (2012) and an aspiring Doctor on the set of Jack Ryan Shadow Recruit (2013). Knightley came back to historic dramas in the role of Joan Clarke, in The Imitation Game, which resulted in an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress.
